Wayside Tap Room Takeover & Music - South Hill Cider.  Saturday Feb 11th

Beat the winter blues with a night celebrating the music and cider of upstate New York with friends and cider lovers alike.

Acclaimed cider maker and musician Steve Selin of South Hill Cider will be playing and pouring with his Fiddle Band from 6:30PM on

Saturday February 11th @ Wayside cider, 55 Redden Lane, Andes NY.  If you have not heard Steve play, you can check him out playing here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHehFsVNpFw

His scrumpy cider will be on tap until it runs out, so come early (6:30PM) to try and hear Steve talk about his cider making process before the music.

See you on the 11th with your dancing shoes!

Wayside Cider Tap Room: Showcasing Cider and Community in Andes, NY

Just off Main Street in Andes, NY, down a meandering dead end road that weaves through tree-spotted rolling hills, something special is brewing — or rather — being pressed. The Wayside Cider Tap Room, which officially opened its doors late last month, is a handsome gathering place serving cider bottled just beyond the bar, as well as other New York State libations and locally sourced meats and cheeses. It is a collaboration between Wayside Cider owners Alex Wilson and Irene Hussey, and designer Sean Scherer who owns the antique and curiosity shop Kabinett & Kammer just up the road. Together, with a handful of hardworking and talented community members, they have transformed a run down barn into the bright new face of a cider revival that is swiftly taking hold across the state.  READ IN FULL

Urban Cider Project

We are excited to be collaborating with @danpucci and @wassailny on a project to produce what we believe will be the first (commercially available in modern time) NYC urban cider made from the apple from the gardens and parks of NYC.
If you have apples, crab apples, pears, hawthorn, etc. in your garden in the city and do not have a home for them, please get in touch - give fruit, get cider: wayside.cider@gmail.com.

The Annex Opening

We will be launching THE ANNEX in Andes this Saturday, June 27th from 6-9pm. If you have ever been to Kabinett & Kammer, Andes, NY you know you are in for a visual treat, but we will also be catering to your other senses, with amazing wild flowers from www.treadlight-farm.com, beautiful organic vegetables from Star Route Farm LLC, pure local honey from Phoenicia Honey Co. and unusual edible plants from Luann Alexander. If you can take any more, we will also be sampling our Catskills mountain ciders...

Into The Woods - June 19

Join us as we celebrate Hudson Valley Cider Week, pairing our portfolio with locally harvested fare by Brushland Eating House.

The evening will begin at Brushland, in the heart of Bovina, NY, where you will be welcomed with a glass of Wayside's Half Wild Cider, then guided on a walking tour through the sun-dappled woods that lie just beyond the restaurant. While taking in the view, Wayside's proprietor, Alex Wilson, will dish about the amazing apple trees that make Wayside cider special as well as some of the delicious wild edibles so abundant in our woodlands here in Delaware County. Once back at base camp, Brushland will prepare a four-course meal, comprised of apple wood smoked trout, locally produced pasta, braised lamb and foraged vegetables and a selection of local cheeses; all carefully paired with Wayside's tart, slightly-effervescent and of-the-land ciders.

Guided walk, local cider and nibbles at 5:45PM - meet at Brushlands.

Dinner will commence at 6:55PM for those who do not attend the woodland walk

At last!

The apples have been pressed, the juice has been fermented, the cider has been bottled.  Wayside Cider is up and running.  Visit the Where To Buy section of the website to find out who is carrying our cider, or contact us directly if you are interested in purchasing a case.  Also if you are interested in stocking our cider in your store or restaurant we will be delivering cider locally and in the Hudson Valley and NYC next Friday.

Happy Birthday Website

Thanks to the hard work of Alex Wilson, Wayside Cider finally has its own website!  It's a bit bare bones right now, but should fill out as we get rolling with our first finished batch of cider.  Check back here over the coming months (years? decades?) to learn where you can find our ciders, gather intel on upcoming events, and just generally keep in the cider loop.
